2 weeks later

Since I started my blog 2 weeks ago, I’ve struggled finding time (or anything interesting) to post. It’s 6.25am and I’ve been awake almost an hour, pretty sure I mentioned in my last post how my body clock wakes me up ridiculously early, that sadly hasn’t changed! Before I go downstairs and finish watching ‘I am Elizabeth Smart’ (a film based on the true story of a 14 girl who was kidnapped for 9 months and put through a horrendous ordeal by a man and woman who believed God was telling them to do such evil things. I find real life crime programmes really interesting and Crime Investigation is definitely my favourite channel) I will try and catch up with anything that has happened over the last fortnight.

Week one
The most exciting thing that happened this week was PAYDAY! The excitement lasted all of a day mind. After putting money into savings, direct debits coming out and an accidental shopping spree, I am more than ready for the next payday.

The shopping spree was kind of successful.. I live in Next trousers. They’re called ‘joggers’ but they’re not the typical thick, gym joggers, they’re patterned, thin and stretchy. They are incredibly comfortable and feel like pyjamas. At £22 a pair, they are good quality and do last well but there is only so many tops a girl can find to match a particular pattern, so it was time for a new pair.. or 3. So I placed an order online which then gave me the option to collect in store, brilliant. I had the confirmation emails and the ‘your order will be ready to collect from 12pm Saturday’, even better because I’m shopping Sunday so they’re guaranteed to be there! Were they there? No. They were lost. £66 out of pocket and the order was lost. Is that a retailers way of saying it’s been stolen or forgotten about? Either way I wasn’t a happy girl but they redeemed themselves by delivering them to my house the next day.

Primark recently opened in Staines and it is so exciting. No more trips to Kingston or even worse, Hounslow to get to the nearest store! I bought 3 new tops, 1 white with a flowery pattern cut out for £5 and the same in black, and a plain white £3 tshirt for work. On to H&M, another white top! This one has pretty, detailed bell sleeves. I also bought a white bra as the only two I have are definitely not white anymore! Next was Debenhams, I made the mistake of going into the swimwear section.. they have some really lovely costumes and kaftans! I took a picture of several different items and at some stage I will narrow them down and add a couple to my birthday list. Walking around aimlessly, searching for sales and came across a 20% off at Red Herring. A lovely little pink top for £9.60 and I was shopped out.

All that I bought was lovely, other than the H&M bra which didn’t fit properly and the pink Red Herring top as it made me look like a bloody marshmallow. So after I’ve finished my crime film this morning and I’ve made some yummy baked oats I’ll be off to return said items in hope to find something else to replace them.

Week two
Again, nothing hugely interesting to report. Miserable 6.30 starts and the usual bane of work.

Tuesday evenings I spend with my bestie Lissa (I think I’ve mentioned her.. I do have other friends I swear) she recently moved into her first home with her boyfriend Antony. They’ve since gained two little kitties! Sooty and Sweep, two beautiful little babies and I almost love Lissa as much as I love them. So yeah every Tuesday evening we spend catching up on the previous week, even though we talk everyday and let’s be honest know everything already, but there’s nothing better than a rant and laugh with your best friend. Lissa usually makes us dinner, pesto pasta with chicken and broccoli was my personal favourite however this week I decided to start Slimming World again (take 38 🎬) so no more pesto for this chunky monkey. Cajun chicken with pasta was on the menu! I made it the night before so it was actually a little dry. Disappointing but still edible.

It’s bank holiday weekend and other than food planning/preparing and shopping, I have no plans. Just how I like it. Chilling out, maxin, relaxing all cool.
